In 2023, American artist Sasha Samuels went to Lviv to paint portraits of wounded Ukrainian soldiers. The project sparked wider advocacy—from museum curation and support for traumatized children to policy work in D.C. and an exhibition at Florence’s Museo Palazzo Vecchio.
